Wow, I can't believe we are already talking about the end of the year, yikes! We've been really busy here at Autodesk with new product review summits, analyst days and preparing for Autodesk University. Oh, there it is AU 2009 (December 1-3) in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay resort. I have many fond memories of the Mandalay Bay, the shark exhibit, the wine tower at Aureole, Rum Jungle. . .alright I'm getting on a tangent here. AU is looking to be a great event this year and there will be some fantastic classes.

We recently added a downloadable trial version of Autodesk Alias Design. With this trial becoming available I thought it was important to create a video series on Autodesk Alias Design that focused on the foundations of using Autodesk Alias Design. There will be mulitple lesson's that each have a set of supporting videos that help create a foundation based on the theme of that particular lesson. I hope these videos help you in developing a solid foundation with Autodesk Alias Design.

Autodesk Alias - Adjusting Windows 7 borders

Recently I have made the leap to Windows 7 from XP. Alias certainly looks cool with the new transparent window borders and shadows. However, i could not help but notice how much larger the Window 7 borders around the windows used with in Alias are.

What a waste of space!

Steps to reduce the Window Padding for Windows 7 (and similar for Vista)

I find the easiest way to bring up the window color and appearance settings is to simply begin to type "Change window colors and metrics" into the search. Change the Drop down menu to "Border Padding" and reduce the size. I am using 0 to make them as small as possible.
