We are happy and excited to launch the new Alias Design community site, a place not only for users of our products, but place open to all designers, creative professionals, and visual artists. The Alias brand has always had a tight connection with creativity. It has been a long and rich history too. Founded in 1983, Alias Research pioneered 3D for design and entertainment. In 1996, Alias was acquired by SGI, a hardware giant at the time. Under SGI, Alias and Wavefront joined forced and became Alias|Wavefront, a wholly owned subsidiary of Silicon Graphics.
